Personalized trauma treatment at Charlie Health
How does Charlie Health’s virtual IOP treat trauma?
Charlie Health’s virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for trauma provides compassionate care for teens and adults who need specialized support for trauma, PTSD, and related mental health conditions.
With more frequent therapy sessions than traditional weekly options, all from the comfort of home, our trauma-informed program helps clients heal while maintaining their daily routines. We offer a safe space where clients can share their story and connect with others facing similar challenges.
Curated groups
By bringing together people with similar traumatic experiences (such as survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or other complex trauma) we’re able to create group environments where clients can learn how to build connections and foster long-term healing.
Individual therapy
One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a trauma-informed primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.
Family therapy
A leading predictor of success in adult IOP is family involvement. Our virtual IOP’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to manage family relationship issues and create a more supportive home environment for clients both during and after treatment.
We also offer dozens of free family support groups for family members and loved ones of clients enrolled in our program. Learn more here.

3) The power of group connection.
Traditional weekly therapy is typically conducted one-on-one. The basis of virtual IOP for trauma, however, is group sessions, allowing clients to heal together, build connections with others who understand their trauma, and practice skills in real time. Centering treatment in group support means clients can learn not only from the therapist but also from the experiences and insights shared by their fellow group members, fostering a sense of belonging and validation.
4) Flexible and accessible.
Virtual IOP for trauma allows clients to continue with daily life, like work or school. With flexible scheduling, including options at night and on the weekend, people don’t have to put life on pause to get the mental health treatment they need.
How do I know if Charlie Health’s virtual IOP is right for my client struggling with trauma?
